I took the opportunity during this year’s Baltimore Marathon to experiment with motion-blur photography.

I captured most of these images of Buddhist temples on O’ahu in 2012-2013, and recently decided to revisit (and reprocess/edit) them to organize in a single post. Most are Japanese Shinto or Hongwanji but the the multi-color mostly blue one is Korean, and the red/yellow/green one is Chinese.

After a 3 hour rain delay the game finally started. I had the telephoto lens on my camera to get these shots from way up in the 300 level.

Fun times at this past Saturday’s Kinetic Sculpture Race. They went up Aliceanna Street to Canton Waterfront Park, then up to the mud obstacle at Patterson Park, and finally down Lombard Street to get back to the American Visionary Art Museum.

This was the 52nd year for the Washington Monument Lighting up at Mt. Vernon Place in Baltimore. In Addition to the lighting an intense fireworks there were food vendors and music performances.

I’ve yet to see a Baltimore Oriole in the wild, but did see this male of the species high up in a tree in the newly renovated birdhouse at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in DC.

This past October 21st I was the photographer on the Gutierrez Memorial Walk. In addition to the walk, the held a silent auction at the Gutierrez studio. I did some experiments with motion blur and assorted exposure settings during this cycling race that went through town yesterday.

The Argentine Navy training ship ARA Libertad paid a visit to Baltimore this week. You could tour the deck of the ship on friday.
