Mauna Kea Protectors
A group of DMV residents held a morning rally on the National Mall in solidarity with those in Hawai’i resisting the Thirty Meter Telescope construction at the top of Mauna Kea on Hawai’i island. Their opposition to the project is that it violates indigenous rights and is an affront to Native Hawaiian cultural and religious traditions.

Palisades 4th: Parade, Hot Dogs, Watermelon, Pie Eating Contest.
This was the 53rd year of the parade and picnic in this D.C. neighborhood. Anyone who lines up can be in it. Free hot dogs, watermelon, and lemonade for everyone at the park afterwards!
